wtf u dont need ... wtf u dont need hundreds of dollar equipment to? scratch.
2 decks
DJ mixer
and a good dj
thats all, practise makes perfect
I would like to say ... I would like to say that that is your? prefered method of djing. Don't try and impose it into other people. people should be able to use which ever method they are comfortable with
im sorry but he's ... im sorry but he's not djaying at all.. all he doing is playing with a few buttons? just to make the s**t look good thats it thats all... to me old skool scratching still sounds better
God you have to get ... God you have to get some carpal tunnel? after so long of mashing the crossfader like that
people that don't ... people that don't like this, go back to the 80's where you? belong!!!this is the now, the present, and YOU ARE THE PAST!!!
I might have to ... I might have to download a cracked version of Traktor Pro 2, I'm getting no support! I bought Traktor Pro 2, version 2.0.0 which doesn't work with DDJ Ergo. It will if I update it & I have the right TSI file, but I can't without activating & I will I need to set it up to familiarize myself before my macbook arrives? mid-April, so I'm using demo version to save wasting an activation on my current laptop. I can't update the demo, downloading the new one doesn't work as the link doesn't send, etc
dont buy this, ... dont buy this, especially if your using it for vinyl timecodes, my calibration is sketchy and doesnt always work and the amount of bugs in the software is unreal, as it stands without me being able to work with what i have i see the 800 pound i just spent on? turntables, a mixer and this package a waste.
track? I.D. track? I.D.
@edyken77 I tried ... @edyken77 I tried that virtual DJ s**t, it made me feel like I was cheating.?
why dont we get ... why dont we get some one with a vinyl set up and some one? using traktor use same songs and see who makes the best mix
f**k all this noise ... f**k all this noise about technology vs no technology.. just get me that synth? solo and ill be happy
Being able to use ... Being able to use new technology with the old is a good thing! Being able to manipulate the music is what its all about so why not add advantages. I havnt tried any of this s**t but why not? Sounds like a good idea to be able to convert my 6,000 lbs of vinyl into a mac. Digging through thrift shops, yard sales, flee markets, antique shops, record stores ect. and finding something unique is what its all about? but expanding that to being able to download newer s**t only makes things better.
@StealthLikeTiger ... @StealthLikeTiger my thoughts exactly. I have a love? hate relationship with scratching. I suck at it, so I hate it. But love when it's used right - SPARINGLY! I get if it's a DMC battle or whatever, but in the club it's goddamned annoying.
@edyken77 good ... @edyken77 good advice bro i agree with u im tired of all the new guys hopping on? a macbook pro and saying theyre a dj their first week
@bigge525 ok i will ... @bigge525 ok i will get my eyes checked because i didn't read what your comment correctly?? still trying to work out what your going on about as for my teeth they are perfect and my breath smells very nice . what does brushing my teeth have anything to do with reading your comment correctly? laughing and beat matching some great vinyl and contemplating which gig to accept this weekend ....get a life WANKER with a little dick that you can't see properly? because your fat gut is in the way
@tellygoodnow ... @tellygoodnow Obviously you need glasses, because I said? that I consider anyone a dj who at least can match up 2 tracks on tempo without electronic assistance (synch button, ect) with CDJ's, turntables. So brush your teeth sometime limey and get some glasses so you can correctly read what I say. :)
Gotta admire the ... Gotta admire the skill of scratching but f**k i hate it when i hear a lot? of it. I hate the sound. All i wanna do at a club is get drunk and listen to the music that has sweet mixes and effects. jmo.
@djtimwright i ... @djtimwright i agree man , why is it that all these guys out there are haters of the new technology isn't being a DJ all about entertaining a crowd in a club or a pub or party? If? a DJ drops a track and it sounds great and its in time who cares how he/she dropped that track?
@bigge525 thats ... @bigge525 thats bulls**t if you can pick the correct tracks and can read a crowd it doesn't matter what equipment your using. So many wankers think its all about beat matching, beat matching is only part of being a DJ.
And yes i beat match on good ole vinyl with my beloved technics 1200's but i love trying out new equipment and basically i've seen some cool stuff being displayed by people that have never touched turntables .
Unfortunately people like? you have created some kind of rule book??
@edyken77 true, but ... @edyken77 true, but maybe Dj'ing is moving in another direction with a new generation. It isn't neccessarily a bad thing. A few years ago i was thinking "s**t hip hop is dead!" there is no new producers. But now there is a plethora of new kids making beats. Out of the hundreds? of thousands we already have kick arse producers ie Mike Kalumbo, Dope Boyz, just two i know. Sure DJing has hit a low point, but it may pick up, no doubt it will.
If you can not ... If you can not match up two songs on tempo without a synch button or electronic help (even with 2 cd tables) you are an overrated hype person,? and NOT a DJ in any way, shape, or form.
Calling yourself a DJ without being able to match up 2 beats without electronic help, is no different than calling yourself a musician because you own sheet music. Period.
@edyken77
Great, ... @edyken77
Great, same here but I still have respect for the guys who come from a different era. I really don't see the need for them to learn a method which they will never use. I mean, if one of these new breed of DJs can't mix on vinyl but? can mix tracks on Traktor whilst utilising the fx to their full potential, and dropping in samples and loops, all harmonically, does that make him any worse than somebody who can blend too tracks together on vinyl, but nothing more?
@djtimwright Naw ... @djtimwright Naw Tim Wright, just with? no bpm counter or wav form.
@regard60
Just ... @regard60
Just like anything if you look at it like that. Being an author is a piece of p**s too, I can write and own a pen and paper. As for Hollywood directors, I've done that too using the camera on my phone. Don't know why people think it's talent,? eh?
@XscudX
Why? ... @XscudX
Why? Sounds like you need to learn about how mixers work. If it were clipping, you'd know about it. And it isn't...manufacturers build the mixers with a safety net. They say, for the DJM800 (for example) that there's two theoretical LEDs above the top one. So even if you? push it to the top, there's still headroom.
Come on, it's 2012...give the hardware manufacturers some credit, they aren't idiots you know.
@edyken77
I ... @edyken77
I assume you learnt on turntables with no pitch control, using records with unsteady, live tempos, then??
just because the ... just because the technology allows for a sync? feature doesnt mean people that use this software actually press sync.. Seems to be a pretty common misconception among "djs".
@edyken77 i'm gonna ... @edyken77 i'm gonna have to disagree with you on that. i'm a controllerist and turntablist and i have worked with EVERYTHING from cdj's, to digital, to old school vinyl. the skill of djing IS NOT just about beatmatching. s**t's gotten WAY more technical now. there is nothing, and i mean NOTHING that digital vinyl can achieve that regular vinyl can. i suggest getting digital? vinyl so that you can learn the basics and then move on to the more modern style of djing. the past is the past. move on.
what if i'm gonna ... what if i'm gonna play real vinyl? record...do i need to unplug turntable from audio 6 and plug it to my mixer or does it work straight away?
